Lego Robotics

Murray Middle School Students Owen Martin, Lathan Bustle, and Lucas Williams recently competed in the RCX Robo Challenge Extreme Virtual Tournament for LEGO Robotics. They finished 2nd in the Middle School Division and also had the best video submission.

The grant purchased tiered, independent work stations to teach language skills to Kindergarten students with differing needs.

Creature Collaboration

The Murray High School art classes built and delivered Creature stuffed animals that the Murray Elementary 3rd graders designed. This was our 4th year to collaborate on this project. As in previous years it was a fun and meaningful experience. 264 total students participated in this project.

Bringing the Mountains to Mohammed

The Murray Middle School Band was able to, once again, hold their annual “Get To Know Ya” Day Camp on February 12th. After a year hiatus due to COVID protocols, the 7 hour long event allowed the band members to receive focused instruction from Music Educators by instrument family.

Ordinary People Change the World

Through the MISD Foundation for Excellence, the MES Library received a grant to purchase a biography series, Ordinary People Change the World. These books have been a huge hit in the library, they fly off the shelves as soon as they are returned. With its graphic novel style, it has been a great way to increase students non-fiction reading.
