Tuition Assistance

Since 2005 friends of the MISD have donated over $120,000 to help pay part of the cost of tuition for students living in Calloway County outside the district boundaries.

Each year a committee conducts a blind review of application forms submitted by families and allocates funds available based on an evaluation of need and academic performance.

Families must apply by April 15 to be considered for an award.

Scholarships

Murray High School graduating seniors annually will be selected to receive scholarships created through donations in honor of individuals who have played important roles in the school system.

All scholarships require either an application or nomination. Click on a scholarship below for details, guidelines, and application information.

The fees for 1-5 students to attend a Young Authors Camp each summer at MSU are paid from an endowment created to honor the outstanding teaching accomplishments of Mrs. Clara Waldrop Griffin Humphrey, named Kentucky’s Teacher of the Year in 1975.

Families who would like their children to be considered for an award may complete the application here:

Keeslar-Soltani Award

A trophy awarded each year to the most valuable MHS boys’ soccer player is paid in part by a fund established to honor Carl Keeslar and Mohamad Soltani, player and coach respectively of the MHS soccer team who lost their lives in separate auto accidents in 1991.

The recipient of the Keeslar-Soltani Award is chosen through a vote by teammates.
