Biography

Nathan Hughes is a newly elected trustee in 2024 and a proud 1998 graduate of Murray High School. His wife Amanda was born and raised in Murray, where she received both her undergraduate and doctorate degrees from Murray State.

Nathan has a strong connection to the Foundation, as his father served as past president. The Murray Tiger legacy continues with their children Anthony, Benjamin, and Lillian currently attending MISD schools and Philip getting ready to join them in two years. As a trustee, Nathan aims to give back to the school system that played a pivotal role in his life, ensuring that future generations of students have access to the same high-quality education and opportunities he once enjoyed.

Professionally, Nathan serves as the pharmacy manager at Kroger in Murray. Additionally, you can find Nathan organizing the 4-H youth chess club for Calloway County children and volunteering as a pianist/music minister with St. Leo’s Catholic Church.
