Ron Cella

Secretary

Biography

Elected a trustee in 2008, Secretary Ron Cella also has served as committee chair and president. He joined the foundation to help fulfill its goal: to support programs and activities which insure continuing success of MISD schools.

His ties to MISD schools are through his family. His wife Doris, a member of the Murray Board Education for twelve years, was chair in 1986 when the foundation was created. Their children, Charles, Laura, and Rachel, are honor graduates of MHS (1984, 1986, and 1995) and participated in many activities, notably athletics, band, and speech.

Ron retired from MSU after teaching 36 years in the Department of English. He also had served as Assistant Dean of Arts and Sciences, English Department Chair, and Hester College Head. He was campus representative for a study abroad program, and he taught in or administered travel programs in the United Kingdom more than 20 times.
